This Is Rock 'n' Roll Radio # 811

Well, 2016 sucks. One month in, and we’ve already had to bid final farewells to far too many beloved performers. This week added JEFFERSON AIRPLANE alums PAUL KANTNER and SIGNE TOLY ANDERSON to this damned list of the dearly departed, and we also lost songwriter BILL MARTIN, as well. We play the music still, and we beg for a respite from more bad news. Please?

On a more pleasant note, our thanks to THE WAX MUSEUM WITH RONNIE DARK for letting us sit in with them for a bit prior to our own show. Ronnie and Mike “The Night Owl” Adams welcomed GARY FRENAY (of THE FLASHCUBES and SCREEN TEST) into the WVOA studio for some tunes ‘n’ conversation, and we were delighted to be included. Much obliged, gentlemen!

We also served up brand-new music from PHIL MARSHALL, offered the TIRnRR debut of THE NUDES, and played a bunch o’ toe-tappin’ tunes, including several from our Featured Act, JEFFERSON AIRPLANE. Respite from bad news. NOW, dammit. And this is what rock ‘n’ roll radio sounded like on a Sunday night in Syracuse this week.

THIS IS ROCK ‘N’ ROLL RADIO with Dana & Carl streams live every Sunday night from 9 to Midnight Eastern, exclusively at www.westcottradio.org
